Electric chainsaws have always been clean and quiet, but they've generally lacked the brawn of their gas-powered brethren. The Oregon PowerNow CS250-E6 40-volt Max cordless chainsaw shatters these shop-worn stereotypes, delivering a powerful, muscular performance with every cut. With its tough 14-inch bar, the PowerNow can power through logs as large as 10 to 12 inches, or trim up to 250 2- to 3-inch branches nonstop on a single charge. Whether you're removing trees, cleaning up after a storm, pruning large branches, or clearing debris from property, the PowerNow chainsaw is up to the challenge. Smaller and quieter than gas-powered chainsaws (view larger). Part of Oregon's PowerNow 40-volt Max battery platform, the CS250-E6 trimmer comes with an extended battery pack (2.4 Ah) as well as a charger. It's also available in a model with a standard battery pack (1.25 Ah) as well as a version without a battery pack or charger -- a great option if you've already purchased a 40-volt Max battery (or several batteries) with other Oregon cordless tools. Power Without the Hassle The PowerNow chainsaw starts instantly with the pull of a trigger: no frustrating pull cords, no messy gas cans, and no slow warm-up times. The chainsaw is also much quieter than gas-powered chainsaws, and is completely silent between cuts. And weighing at 11 pounds (with optional standard battery pack), the CS250-E6 chainsaw is easy to wield whether you're cutting a tree trunk below you or a tree branch above. More importantly, the CS250-E6 offers these hassle-free benefits without sacrificing an ounce of power. The chainsaw cuts with no-fade strength, so you can keep cutting with the same intensity even as the battery drains to a quarter charge or less. Plus, the lithium-ion PowerNow 40-volt Max battery pack holds its charge for months at a time when inactive, so the CS250-E6 chainsaw is ready when you are. You can also keep additional PowerNow battery packs on hand for bigger jobs, as the interchangeable packs swap out in seconds. Built-in PowerSharp sharpening system -- from dull to sharp in 3 to 5 seconds (view larger). Sharp and Safe The chainsaw comes with a built-in PowerSharp chain sharpening system, so you'll never cut with a dull chain again. When the chain starts to lose its edge, simply pull the PowerSharp lever for three to five seconds with the saw running and the chain will work like new. To protect you while cutting, the PowerNow includes such features as a built-in safety chain brake, a low kickback chain/guide bar, a safety trigger interlock, and a patent-pending control board with overload and heat protection.
